Hello, my name is Erika Buller, and I am delighted to serve Bethel Lutheran as its Associate Pastor. I grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN and was fostered in faith there by the community at Trinity Lutheran Church. I attended college at Augsburg College (now University) in Minneapolis where I studied Youth and Family Ministry and graduated in 2004. While in college I worked as a youth director in South Minneapolis and spent my summers at two lovely Bibles Camps in Northeastern Minnesota working for Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry. After college I continued to work and volunteer in churches in youth ministry. I also worked for five years with Barnes & Noble in Children’s books and in Community Relations for their corporate office.
In the spring of 2010, I made a big change and enrolled at Luther Seminary in St. Paul. I had no designs of being a pastor at the time—God has a sense of humor and sometimes you need an awfully big push to get where you need to be. I spent my internship year in Dawson, MN nurtured in leadership by the lovely folks of Grace Lutheran Church. I have proudly served for two cycles on the National Youth Gathering Dome Creative Team in New Orleans and Detroit. I graduated from Luther in May of 2014 with my Masters in Divinity with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Family Ministry.
Bethel Lutheran Church is my very first call. I was ordained at Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes on November 30, 2014. I live in Wahpeton with my husband, Michael and our son, Henry. I love to knit, read novels, write, hike, canoe and camp. I can’t get enough British Television or coffee.
May God bless you,
